Abstract: BARAZONA, STEPHANY O. GOTAUCO, JOHN PATRICK G. and VILLANUEVA, KRISNA D. Science Genius Escapade: A Two Dimensional Android Game for Grade 5 students. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. July 2019. Adviser: Charlotte B. Carandang. Science Genius Escapade: A Two Dimensional Android Game for Grade 5 students was developed in order to provide a platform where the students may ,able to learn while playing the game. The system is consist of five (5) modules: Gameplay Module, Map Module, Lesson Module, Settings Module, and Character Module. The gameplay module will handle the interface of the game. The game has different chapter’s equivalent to lessons of grade 5. There is also a mission in every chapter where the user needs to accomplish and overcome to reach the next chapter. The map module will serve as the player's guide in playing the game. The lesson module will contain information or knowledge about Grade 5 Science. This module includes some topics such as Human Body Systems, Biodiversity of Plants and Animals, Interactions of Living Things in Different Ecosystem and Energy. This module also contains the quest and mission of the user. Settings Module will handle the adjustment of sounds and vibrations. In playing the game, all settings are in default and the user may be able to adjust the sounds. In character module, the user or the player can choose between the two (2) characters; it's either male or female character. It will also handle what will be the username of the player. The proponents used the Prototyping Model in the development of the android game named Science Genius Escapade. The Prototyping Model is a systems development method (SDM) in which a prototype (an early approximation of a final system or product) is built, tested, and then reworked as necessary until an acceptable prototype is finally achieved from which the complete system or product can now be developed. This model works best in scenarios where not all of the project requirements are known in detail ahead of time. It is an iterative, trial-and-error process that takes place between the developers and the users. The respondents evaluated the software based on its functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, portability and user-friendliness. The results were tabulated, analyzed, and statistically treated using mean and standard deviation. The developed system was evaluated by potential end-users. Eighty (80) participants composed of ten (10) Information Technology and Computer Science instructors as technical critic. Ten (10) Elementary Teachers and sixty (60) student as non-technical critic. The over-all result of technical evaluation was Very Good with the mean of 4.00 and standard deviation of 0.73. The over-all result of non-technical evaluation was Excellent with the mean of 4.36 and standard deviation of 0.60.
