Abstract: LLAMERA, MARY GRACE E. Life Stories on the Successes, Failures and Challenges of Employed Persons with Disabilities in Alfonso, Cavite. Agdalpen, MA This study was conducted from January to April 2017 at the Municipality of Alfonso, Cavite. The purpose of this study is to present an overview of the life stories on the successes, failures and challenges of employed persons with disabilities in Alfonso, Cavite. Specifically, it aimed to: (1) Determine the successes, failures and challenges encountered by the participants; (2) Identify the coping mechanism of employed by participants; and (3) List down the assistance extended by the Municipal of Social Welfare and Development Office- Alfonso, Cavite to the participants. This study involved six (6) Persons with Disability of Alfonso, Cavite were employed in government and another from non-government (BPI, church, and Call Center) agencies. They are the PWDs aged in 18-60 years old and legitimate residents of Alfonso, Cavite. The researcher utilized the snowball sampling technique in order to identify the scope of the study where in the six respondents of PWDs were interviewed: three from the government and another three from the non-government agencies. The research design used is descriptive- narrative method of research in order to specify the life story on the success, failures and challenges of working PWDs through careful observations and detailed documentation of a phenomenon during their employment. And the researcher used also purposive interview for direct and face-to-face dialogue with the participants. Data from interviews conducted with the employed PWDs are reviewed. Various methodological approaches in studying such variables and their limitations are then presented and discussed. Based on the results of the study that PWDs experienced successes, failures and challenges before they were employed in government and non- government agencies as they narrate their stories that showed different sentiment. Moreover, the study also revealed that they have differences in managing their experiences in terms of the successes, failures, and challenges they have encountered during their work. Some of them could not fully express their thoughts and feelings from their past work experiences due to confidentiality. The gathered data serves as the basis of the essentials results. Through the results, other municipalities will be enjoined to have an organized group among PWDs and hopefully, become a basis in improving the programs and services for their welfare.
