Mental health has a great impact in individual life. It is defined as a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope up with normal stresses of life, and is able to make to her or his community, and mental health problem is used to describe a wide range of diagnosable psychiatric illnesses that affect a person's ability to think, feel and behave in a manner that allows optimum functioning. These are the definition of both mental health and mental health problem, thus individuals whom in this state needs extra attention and care from families, as well professionals in line in the treatment process. Thus, the premise of this study is to know how Social Workers conduct an intervention for the families of person with mental health problem.
The study was to present integral work in analyzing the intervention and needed intervention for each patient families by Social Workers. The study believed to determine that social work could enhance the ability and develop programs towards the effectiveness of holistic intervention. Thus, integration of each patient families and social workers can have a great impact during the whole process of medication. The overall result of the study is to determine the social work intervention among families of person with mental health problem. This study was conducted from December 2017 to March 2018 Cavite Center for Mental Health located at Trece Martires City Cavite, to determine what social work intervention are being conducted in assisting the families of person with mental health problems.
Specifically, it aimed to 1. determine the socio-demographical profile of the participants in terms of screen name, age, sex, educational attainment and income; 2. determine the needs among families of person with mental Health Problem; 3. determine the intervention conducted by social workers in assisting the families of person with mental health in Cavite Center for Mental Health. Descriptive research design was used in the study. Result found out the two specific objectives of the study; needs among families of person with mental health and social work intervention. The needs among families of person with mental health problems is free medication. The intervention conducted by social workers in assisting families of person with mental health problems is through educational lecture. All data that acquired in the study was processed by the researchers- through analyzation. The information in the study was determined through interview with the participant’s family member and clinical social workers.
