Nahilat This study was conducted at the selected areas of Manila particularly Luneta Park and Roxas Boulevard from March to April 2017. This aimed to describe the situation of the street dwellers in selected areas in Manila and the interventive roles of social workers in Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW). Specifically, it aimed to determine the demographic profile of the participants in terms of age, place of origin, number of years of stay in the street and source of income; explain the activities street dwellers usually do. understand the health situation of the street dwellers and determine the ways social worker's respond in the street dweller's situation. Narrative research design was utilized with the aid of interview guide. The results of the study were analyzed and discussed in a narrative form. Five street dwellers in Luneta Park and Roxas Boulevard, particularly mothers who has been staying in the street for more than a month, and two social workers in MDSW designated to street dwellers' welfare were interviewed. Age of the participants ranged from 21-65 years old, most of them are from places outside Manila and had been staying in the street ranging from three months to seven years. They traverse in the busy street for activities and economic support. However, although living at the street, majority of them have a healthy body condition. With the programs and services rendered by the social workers of MDSW, the street dwellers were assisted in elevating their current situation.
