Abstract: CUARTERON, CHRISTINE JOY OAPER, GERMILYN M. Life Situation of Older Persons (Senior Citizens) who are Public Market Vendors in Silang, Cavite: Implication to Social Work Practice. Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Scald work, College of Arts and Sciences, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May NI& Adviser: Ms. Merlie C. Nahilat. This study was conducted at Municipality of Silang, Public Market from October Y17 to March 2018. Specifically, the study aimed to: determine the socio-demographic peer& of the respondents according to age, sex, civil status, and length of years working z vendor, determine the experiences of the older persons who are public market vendor in Silang Cavite; determine the safety in their working place; determine the present health condition of the older persons (senior citizens); determine the awareness of the older persons in the health facilities near their working place and aid their immediate health needs; determine the effect of ageing in their livelihood; determine the awareness of the older person to the programs and services of the MSWDO / DSWD. The researchers used purposive sampling whereby it used good judgments in selecting the respondents who best meet the purpose of the study. 1 he respondents were selected using the following criteria: the respondents must be 60-80 years of age; the respondents must be a public vendor in Silang public market; the respondents must be a registered Senior Citizen in MSWDO- Silang; and the respondents must be a resident of Silang Cavite. The result showed that most of the respondents are in ages ranging from 63-69 years old All of the participants are women wherein five (5) are ma Tied and three (3) are of experience widow The length of years working as public market vendors ranges between 9-57 Years market vendors in Silang Cavite experiences business income and business losses, and Therefore the study reveals that the older persons (senior citizens, who are public social conflicts between the management. With this, they desire to change and improve their current situation by having a proper place where they can sell and work comfortably. The define the safety in their working place as good because they do not see any serious threat except of the pollution in their environment. There were also very few older persons (senior citizens) who are public market vendors that has an access or avail the services from the health center and municipality due to lack of awareness. Further, it is recommended for the local government municipality, to see beyond the condition of the older persons who are vendors in the public market and to promote the programs and services of the municipality to improve the awareness of the older persons and develop additional programs for the older persons (senior citizens) who are working as public market vendors.
