Abstract: Alix, Aila Marie P., Enriquez, Katherine E. DEVELOPMENT OF A PEDOMETER-BASED CALORIE MONITORING PROGRAM. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Cavite State University. Indang Cavite October 2014: Mr. Simeon E. Daez. This study was conducted for the monitoring healthy lifestyle of the students. This aimed to help the student to provide an easier monitoring in maintaining the calories and lost weight based on food intake and number of steps. Cavite State University Methodology Software Development Model was used in the development of the software. It consisted the following phases: Analyze/Planning, Breakdown Priority Project, Design Module, Code Test, Debug, Integration of Sub Procedure and Testing, Integration Existing System, Test/Implementation. The application, software and tools used to develop the system were: MySQL (My structured Markup Query Language) for the database storage, Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 for the graphical user interface (GUI) and to create code applications conveniently, Adobe Photoshop CS6 for the design. For the evaluation of the system, the researchers needed 100 randomly selected participants. This evaluation was used to rate the system based on its functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability. Overall, the functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability were rated as very good.
