This study is sought to determine if there is significant difference in frustration level in terms of Emotional and Social Conditions, Economic Status, Environmental and Cultural Background and Self-Competence of selected freshmen students of Cavite State University. Specifically, this study sought to determine the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age, gender, college, and monthly income of the family; frustration level of the respondents in terms of emotional and social conditions, economic status, and environmental and cultural background; self-competence level of the respondents; and if there is significant relationship between frustration level and self-competence level of the respondents. This study was conducted from October to March 2008 at Cavite State University, which focused on the frustration level and self-competence level of selected freshmen student. This study used the descriptive design, which is integrated by a normative survey-method-using validated questionnaire as a gathering tool. In the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age, gender, college, and monthly income of the family. It was revealed that in terms of age, the high percentage of the respondents belongs to 17 years of age. The majority of the respondents were females, and most of the respondents belonged to the College of Education. However, in line with the monthly income of the family of the respondents, it shows that most of the parents of the respondents had a monthly income of twenty thousand and one (P20, 001) and above at frequency of 22 or 40.7 percent. Study revealed that the frustration level of the respondents in terms of emotional and social conditions, economic status, and environmental and cultural background has no significant relation with respondents' self-competence level. Furthermore, in relation to the frustration level of the respondents it was concluded that the emotional and social conditions, environmental and cultural background of the respondents has a high influence to their level of frustration. On the other hand, the students' economic status has no significant influence to their level of frustration. Meanwhile, in relation to the self-competence level of the respondents and their level of frustration, it shows that the emotional and social conditions, economic status, and environmental and cultural background did not influence the level of self-competence of the selected freshmen student of Cavite State University. However, study found out that there is no significant difference between frustration and self-competence in selected freshmen student of Cavite State University.
