Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Financial Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2017. Adviser: Ms. Jenny Beb Ebo. The study was conducted in Cavite State University Indang, Naic and Rosario Campuses, from January to March 2017. The total number of participants was 63. Generally; the study aimed to analyze the various investment decisions of faculty and employee retirees in Cavite State University System. Specifically, this study aimed to (1) identify the socio-economic profile of the faculty and employee retirees of Cavite State University System; (2) to identify their existing investments; (3) to determine their decision to invest based on different types of investment; (4) to determine their level of knowledge and readiness in investments; (5) to determine the relationship of knowledge and readiness in their decision to invest; (6) to determine the significant relationship between socio-economic profile and their decision to invest; (7) to determine the significant difference in the decision to invest of retirees in terms of their socio-economic profile; (8) to identify the problems encountered on their existing investments, and (9) to formulate an investment decision model of faculty and employee retirees. The study used descriptive and correlation research designs. Data were gathered through personal interview with the used of guide questionnaire. Total enumeration method was used in the selection of participants. Data were statistically treated using mean, Likert scale, Spearman rank order coefficient of correlation, chi-square and Kruskal- Wallis. The number of female faculty and employee retirees was greater than the number of male. Most of the retirees were married with an average age of 66 years old and have no dependents. Most of the retirees' sources of income were their pension. Time deposit was the existing investment of the retirees. Because for them time deposit is the simplest way of saving and securing money. The decision to invest among the retirees was low because retirees want to spend more on leisure activities. Some of the retirees are ready to invest but they do not want to invest anymore because of some problems that they will encounter. One of these problems was lack of capital which is very important part of investment. The level of knowledge of retiree when it comes to investing is fairly knowledgeable. They are just educated about the different types of investment. Some of the retirees are not ready to invest in any types of investment. They only exert few or little effort when getting information about investment. Knowledge and age was the factors that affect the capability and capacity of the retirees when it comes to investment decision. Retirees are more knowledgeable, the more they are ready to invest. The reasons retirees are not ready to invest were lack of knowledge and age. The study shows that, most of the retirees did not go in to investment for the reason that they getting old and don not have enough time and knowledge in investing on any types of investment. Conducting such seminars can improve the knowledge about investing in various types of investment.
