"Perception on the Effectiveness of Teaching Strategies in the Academic Performance of the Level IV BSN Students in Cavite State University". Adviser: Loeulla Burgos, RN. This study focused on the usage level of teaching strategies used by the clinical and non clinical instructors of the fourth level BSN students, the perception of the students on the effectiveness of these teaching strategies, the level of Academic performance of the students and the relationship of these teaching strategies to the Academic performance of the level IV BSN students. This study made use of questionnaire to determine the usage level of the teaching strategies in the three subject areas, Curative and Rehabilitative Nursing management 2, Philippine Government and Constitution and the Philippine Literature, and also the perception of the students on the effectiveness of these teaching strategies. On the other hand, review of records was used to determine the level of academic performance of the level IV BSN students. After the data was collected, these are subjected to statistical treatment. Mean and standard deviation are used to determine the usage level of teaching strategies and the perception of the students in the effectiveness of these teaching strategies. Frequency and percentage was used to determine the level of academic performance of the fourth level BSN students. And Spearman Rank Correlation was used to measure the degree of relationship between teaching strategies used by the instructors and the academic performance of the students. As a result, lecturing, use of overhead transparencies and giving of handouts are the most frequently used teaching strategies by the instructors of the level IV BSN students and the students find lecturing as very satisfactory and rest satisfactory. And as far as academic performance is concerned, the students are classified as good. There is no significant relationship between the academic performance and the teaching strategies in general.
