Abstract: CURIOSO, KASELYN T. Emotional Maturity, Social Attitude and Interpersonal Relationship of Adolescents with Working Mothers in Selected Barangays of Indang, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University. April 2012. Thesis Adviser: Ms. Armi Grace L. Bicomong. The study entitled "Emotional Maturity, Social Attitude and Interpersonal Relationship of Adolescents with Working Mothers in Selected Barangays of Indang, Cavite" aimed to determine: (1) the level of emotional maturity of the adolescent respondents with working mothers; (2) the social attitude of the adolescent respondents with working mothers; (3) the level of interpersonal relationship of the adolescent respondents with working mothers in terms of their relationship with family and relationship with friends; and (4) the significant relationship among the level of emotional maturity, social attitude and level of interpersonal relationship of adolescent respondents with working mothers. This study used Descriptive-Correlation and Purposive sampling as its research design and sampling technique. The study was conducted in four selected barangays (Alulod, Poblacion 4, Tambo Kulit and Tambo Balagbag) in Indang, Cavite with a total of 120 adolescents with working mothers. This study utilized survey technique using the researcher-made scales of Emotional Maturity, Social Attitude and Interpersonal Relationship to gather the information needed. The results of the study revealed that the adolescents with working mothers were often able to control their emotions, understand one self, relate well with others, and positively adjust to life's changes. It also revealed that they have positive judgments and viewpoints towards people. Additionally, it was revealed that adolescents with working mothers are having close relationship with family and friends. They usually disclosed their feelings and thoughts to them and they were highly appreciative of their family and friends. These results may have been due to the ability of their working mothers to provide and attend to their needs especially the emotional, psychological and social needs that ultimately led to maturation. Moreover, the results indicated that the higher the emotional maturity of the adolescents with working mothers, the more favorable their attitude is and the higher their interpersonal relationship is. They can control their emotions and thoughts due to their abilities on understanding themselves and making responsible attitude towards others. Further, these abilities contributed in avoiding arguments and misunderstandings in relationships which makes their interpersonal relationships to flourish and last long. Also, the more they believe that other people are good, kind, loving and trustworthy, the more they want to get closer with them and form harmonious relationship especially with their family and friends.
