Abstract: BAUTISTA, JOHN PAUL and DORIO, NEIL ARDIENEL B. Assessment of Water Resources in Amadeo, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2017. Adviser: Dr. Leyma L. Cero. The study was conducted from October 2016 to March 2017 and was focused on assessing the available water resources in Amadeo, Cavite. Specifically, the study aimed to: identify the water resources in Amadeo, Cavite; prepare a map showing the location of water resources of Indang; collect information on how water resources are utilized in the area; measure the water quantity and quality of the identified sources; and conduct a potability test of water from springs that are utilized for drinking purpose. The sampling sites are located in Maitim, Minantok East, Banay banay, Poblacion I Poblacion 12, Pangil, Loma and Halang. Monthly discharge measurement was performed in the streams and springs. The result of temperature, conductivity and total dissolved solids of collected samples complied to the limit requirements of the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water (PNSDW). Moreover, the result of pH and salinity of collected samples complied to the limit of 6.5 — 8.5 pH and 1,000 ppm standard safe level for drinking water. Most water samples for both seasons failed the limit in terms of total coliform and fecal coliform. Except for one location, the water samples obtained passed the standard for heterotrophic plate count.
