Abstract: MICHAEL E. STA BRIGIDA, "Logistic Regression Analysis of the Personality Type of CvSU-CAS Students", A Special Problem, Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics (Major in Statistics), Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite March 2009, Adviser: Prof Antonio V. Cinto. The study was conducted to: (1) identify the personality type, whether "introvert" or "extrovert" of CvSU-CAS students; (2) determine the factors that are related to the personality of CvSU-CAS students; (3) formulate logistic regression model for the personality type of CvSU-CAS students; and (4) predict the proportion of introvert or extrovert student given the factors affecting their personality. The independent variables considered were age, gender, year level, course, civil status, religion, blood type, annual family income, number of years spent in CvSU, type of school graduated in high school and educational attainment of parents. The derived logistic regression model was Logit (Y) = -2.636 x Course +.707 x Year Level +.695 x Type of School Graduated in high school The logistic regression model showed that the course, year level and type of school graduated in high school highly affect the personality of the CvSU a CAS students. Considering the classification rate of the model, it can be concluded that the logistic regression model was really a better model representing the factors of the personality type of the CvSU - CAS students since the classification rate is high enough due to chance.
