Abstract: RODIL, DECELYN L. Correlates of the Levels of Marital Relationship on the Length of Marriage Among Married Couples in Selected Barangays in Amadeo, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University. April 2012. Adviser: Mr. Renato T. Agdalpen. This study aimed to: a.) determine the length of marriage of the respondents; b.) determine the factors of marital relationship of the respondents in terms of religion, children, emotional maturity, and socio-economic status; c.) determine the levels of marital relationship of the couple in terms of trustworthiness, communication, companionship, and fidelity; and d.) determine the significant relationship between the following variables: factors of marital relationship and levels of marital relationship of the respondents; length of marriage and factors of marital relationship of the respondents, and length of marriage and levels of marital relationship. This study employed Pearson R Correlation Coefficient in identifying the degree of relatedness of length of marriage and factors of marital relationship and levels of marital relationship; and factors of marital relationship and levels of marital relationship. Analyzing the relationship requires zero point zero five (0.05) level of significance which was used in the study. The study covered 150married couples in selected barangays in Amadeo, Cavite namely: Dagatan with 20 married couples; Maymangga with 15 married couples, Minantok with 20 married couples; Pangil 25 married couples; Poblacion IV with 15 married couples; Poblacion V with 15 married couples; Poblacion X with 20 married couples; and Poblacion XII with 20 married couples. The criteria of the respondents were legally married couple, have been together for 25 years or more and age 45 and above. The respondents were asked to answer the demographic profile as to their length of marriage and the self-made survey instrument in order to determine the factors of marital relationship and levels of marital relationship of the respondents. Result revealed that the length of marriage of the respondents was found that most of them were in 25-35 years in marriage. The factors of marital relationship of the respondent were found very high, it means they can afford their financial needs, they center the religion on their relationship, extremely feels that children are the bind to their relationship, and they extremely understand each other. The levels of marital relationship of the respondents were found as high, it means they extremely trust their partner whatever they doing. They have much time to communicate with each other. They have extreme closeness to each other and extremely loyalty to their partner. And the relationships of factors of the marital relationship were found to be not significantly related to the length of marriage. Specifically, levels of marital relationship are not related to the factors in terms of socio economic status, religion, and emotional maturity except for children. The children are significantly related to levels of marital relationship. It implies that children are focal point of the couple’s relationship from the moment they enter their lives up to their old age. However, the factor of marital relationship in terms children was found significantly related to the levels of marital relationship of married couples in Amadeo, Cavite.
