Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. March 2016. Adviser: Engr. Gerry M. Castillo. The main objective of the study was: l) to assess the present safety management application within selected ISO certified companies in Cavite; 2) determine if ISO certification of the companies has significant effect in the application of safety management system; and 3) give possible recommendations in relation to the assessment of the present safety management application within selected ISO certified companies in Cavite. Survey questionnaire was used for gathering data. Then, descriptive statistics was used for analyzing the effectiveness of safety management. In addition, linear correlation coefficient was used to describe the degree of relationship between the effectiveness of safety management and the ISO certification. The result of the study indicates that the safety management was properly implemented before a company was ISO certified. In addition, a gradual improvement on the safety management becomes visible when the company acquires ISO certification. Moreover, the correlation shows that ISO certification enhances safety management. In conclusion, ISO certification promotes proper safety management that companies can present to their employees. Furthermore, employees recognized that companies who prioritized safety management is the best place to work. On the other hand, the companies used it to motivate them and produce a good quality product safely. ix Nowadays, when your people are safe your profit will be great. Meaning, people, and profit are almost directly proportional. This study recommended that the safety management should be improved even you have no ISO certification. In addition, continuous improvement should be done to satire the ISO certification is given.
