Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Adviser: Mariedel L. Autriz, PhD. This project was conducted at Barangay Kabulusan, General Emilio Aguinaldo, Cavite from February 5, 2017, to April 30, 2017. The project aims to develop skills in hog raising in terms of actual operation and management of a hog raising project and to determine the profitably of raising hogs. The hog production project used four piglets that were purchased from a backyard swine raiser, the average weight of the piglets was 16.15 kilogram. The feeds were bought at Farm Mart Silang, Cavite. They were fed three times a day and underwent restricted feeding so that there will be no wastage of feeds. On the day of production, the stocks already consumed four bags of starter pellets which amounted to P5,240.00. They also consumed ten bags of grower pellets on the last 55 days of production which amounted to PI 1,900 .00. After 85 days the stocks weighed an average live weight of 89 kilogram, with an average daily gain of 860 grams per day. The hogs consumed an average of 175 kilogram of feeds per head, giving a feed conversion efficiency of 2.41. A total of P31,354.00was used for buying of stocks, feeds, medicine, and other expenses and miscellaneous expenses for the operation. The business gave a net income which of PI 5,066.00 giving a return of investment (ROI) of 48.05 percent. | |
