The study was conducted from March 2018 to April 2018 in colleges and offices of Cavite State University - Main Campus to assess the solid waste generation and solid wastes disposal practices, and level of awareness of the University's constituents on the Solid Waste Management Program. Specifically, the study aimed to: (1). identify the solid wastes generated in Cavite State University Main Campus after 16 years since the previous Solid Waste Characterization Study (Feje, 2002); (2). determine the amount of solid wastes generated within 30 days in the Campus; (3). determine the level of awareness of the university's constituents on the Solid Waste Management Program; (4). determine the level of perception of the university's constituents on the Solid Waste Management Program; (5). determine the level of compliance of the university's constituents on the Solid Waste Management Program; (6). identify the problems and issues pertaining to the Implementation of the solid waste management program; and (7). propose possible solutions on the problems and issues concerning the implementation of the solid waste management program. Quantitative and descriptive type of research was used in this study. Collecting of wastes generated per colleges and offices was used to determine the types and amount of waste for 30 days. Survey was conducted to determine the demographic profile, level of awareness, perception and compliance of the participants The selected participants in Cavite State University-Main Campus were 389 students, 52 concessionaires, 80 visitors, 230 teaching personnel, and 204 non — teaching personnel, with a total of 955 participants. Based on the 30-day collection, the wastes generated by the colleges and offices were recyclable bottles, recyclable papers, residuals and compostables. Study showed that 370.64 kg of solid waste was generated from the colleges and offices of Cavite State University-Main Campus for 30 days. The average weight of the solid waste generated was 17.65 kg/day Furthermore, the study showed that visitors and teaching personnel had a low level of awareness and perception on the Solid Waste Management Program of Cavite State University-Main Campus. Meanwhile, visitors and non-teaching personnel had a low level of compliance.
