The study was conducted at the Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite from December 1989 to February 1990 to evaluate the consumptive use of peanut on different soil types and to compare the consumptive use rates that would be obtained. A nine square meters (9m2) field was divided into 16 equal plots and embedded with pots of different soil types representing the treatments which were replicated four times. Each pot was planted BPI - Po variety of peanut purchased from the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI). The pots were arranged in Completely Randomized Design (ORD). Different soil types selected from different areas in Cavite served as an index in the treatments used. Treatments include: T1 (sandy clay loam soil), T2 (silky clay loam soil), T3 (clay loam soil), and T4. (clay soil). It was proven in the study that there, were no significant differences among the consumptive use rates of peanut on different soil types used. It was also found out that peanut could be planted to any of the four-soil types used without varying the depth of water applied.
