Laboratory Science High School, Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. May 2018. Adviser: Dr. Myleen Legaspi. This study aimed to produce enhanced floor wax from macapuno. It also sought to answer the questions: how stable are the enhanced floor wax in terms of color, fragrance, and texture, what are the sensory properties of the enhanced floor wax in terms of color, fragrance, texture, and glossiness; and if there are any significant differences among treatments in terms of color, fragrance, texture, and glossiness. This study aimed to use the rejected meat of macapuno to make floor wax for a safer and organic alternative. Macapuno, orange, and achuete oil were extracted individually. Then each oil was mixed together according to the formulations in each treatment. Also, specific quantities of paraffin wax were added to each treatment. Each product was left at a room temperature for four weeks and was checked and visited on a weekly interval. Findings of the study revealed that in terms of color Treatment 1 was the most prominent in shade of red. It was evaluated to be the most lustrous or glossy among other treatments. In terms of fragrance, Treatment 3 was evaluated to have the least scent of kerosene among other treatments. In terms of general acceptability, findings revealed that Treatment 1 was the most acceptable treatment having the highest mean rank. In the findings of the study, there are no significant differences among treatments in terms of color, fragrance, texture, and glossiness.
