Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. June 2018. Adviser: Dr. Irvin dL .Matel. The project was conducted at Barangay Niogan, Lemery, Batangas from October 14,2017 to February 16, 2018. The project aimed to apply knowledge and skills learned in class in actual hog raising, enhance the managerial and practical skills of raising fattening hogs and determine the profitability of raising pigs. The swine production project used six piglets with an average weight of 17.17 kg and total cost of P 20,800. The pigs were fed three times a day for 42 days and twice a day in the remaining rearing period. After 102 days of raising the hogs, an average weight of 91.42 kg was attained. The feed intake of hogs was 183.33 kg, with an average daily gain of 727.94 kg and feed conversion efficiency of 2.47. A total cost of P13,529.6 was invested in the farm project. The total sales amounted to P65,952 resulting to a total net income of P13,431.6. The return on investment (R01) was 25.6 percent. The break-even point by price was P8,745.06 and 2.86 kg by weight. At this point, the project had already recovered its expenses. This project served as guide to the students to handle a simple business that can earn profit in short period of time.
