The study determined the following: demographic and socio-economic characteristics private and public senior high school teachers; level of their occupational stress: signs of their occupational stress: significant difference in the level of occupational stress and the signs of occupational stress between the private and public senior high school teacher significant relationship between the demo-socio-economic characteristics and the level of occupational stress; and identified the means to minimize occupational stress from the viewpoints of the participants. There were 113 participants composed of 50 and 63 senior high school teachers from public and private schools of the District of Bacoor City, respectively. Data were gathered through a survey questionnaire. Part 11 and 111 of the instrument underwent a reliability test using Cronbach's Alpha. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as Mann-Whitney-U Test, Spearman's Rank Correlation Coefficient, Point-Biserial Correlation Coefficient and Chi-square Test. The mean age of teachers from the public and private schools was 39 and 29 years, respectively. There were inure female teachers in both public and private schools. Many of the public school teachers were married/widowed/separated while there were more single among the private school teachers. Most of those in public schools had advanced education while those from the private school were mostly college graduate. Majority of the teachers from the private schools had Teacher I/ Instructor position, in contrast to those lion the public schools who had Teacher2-3 up to Master/Head Teacher positions. The monthly salary of most of the private senior high teachers were m the range of Php 14,874 and below while all those in public schools received salaries above this range. The average class size in public was 43 and 33 in private with an overall mean size of 37. Participants had moderate occupational stress level Amon, the selected parameters, high level of stress was only seen in job assignment while the rest had moderate stress levels. Physiological signs of occupational stress were occasionally felt while emotional and behavioral signs were seldom experienced by the participants. Results of the Mam Whitney z-test revealed a no significant difference in the level of occupational stress between senior public and private high school teachers. However, the level of stress on school situation was found to be significantly different. Further, analysis revealed a no significant difference in the signs of occupational: stress experienced by the public and private senior high school teachers. Demo-socio-economic characteristics composed of I) age, 2) sex. 3) Civil status, 4) educational attainment. 5) Rank or position, 6) salary, 7) average number of students in a class, and 8) organizational membership were not significantly related to their level of occupational Stress. The top three means to minimize occupational stress from the viewpoints of the participants were: I) provide continuing professional development for teachers; 2) Extend medical services to teachers and; 3) provide a teacher's lounge to have time to relax/rest during off periods.
