Thesis Adviser: Mr. Renato T. Agdalpen. This study was conducted to present the lived experiences of the social workers in the home for the aged in selected areas in Cavite and Rizal. It aimed to: know the programs and services offered of each institution; the policies, rules and regulations of the program delivery for the elderly; challenges of the social workers in handling the elderly; and the lived experiences of the social workers working with the elderly. This study was conducted on five (5) social workers working with the elderly in selected areas in Cavite and Rizal. Questionnaire and interview were used as research instrument. The documentary review was also used to provide information on the lived experiences of the social workers in Cavite and Rizal. The study utilized the purposive total enumeration technique in gathering data in which the researcher relies on his or her own judgment when solely involved of the participants to participate in the study. Furthermore, this research emphasized contextualization of understanding about the study. It also used narrative analysis through actual interview. The method has aimed to explore in detail how participants are making sense of their personal experiences working with the elderly. The study was conducted to determine the programs and services offered in handling the elderly in the home for the aged institution which include home life services, medical and health services, psychological services, spiritual and religious enrichment program and services, total staff collaboration, networking and advocacy, dietary services, health and medical services, physical therapy services, placement services, burial services, individual sessions, rehabilitation meetings, case conferences, group work, therapeutic activities, pension management, social services and nutritional services. The rules and regulations in handling the elderly in terms of program delivery strictly focus on the confidentiality on the documents and important files of the elderly. They also observed and obeyed the policies of their own institution in terms of program delivery. They serve and manage well the programs and services in handling the elderly study also determined the challenges of the social workers that experienced the misbehaviors of the elderly with mental illness and other psychological problems, also on their health and conflict with their co-elderly. Generally, the lived experiences of the social workers working with the elderly encountered good and bad experiences in their work. Specifically, they were happy to serve and help the elderly on their problems and somehow, while helping them, they were also helping themselves. Moreover, they experienced dying elderly and practice the roles of the social worker working with them.
