March 2011. Adviser: Mr. Mark Steve V. Poniente. The study was conducted to develop a system that is capable of monitoring the security for any restricted location. The system used Thermal sensor for the stability of temperature and Passive Infra-Red (PIR) sensor as motion detector. The system is capable of creating a database file for daily video data and report of the incident and logs. Through this study, it would require lesser time to initiate an alert status which will prevent or minimize any mishaps. The system will be also accessible through the internet, thus, improving its accessibility. Having such system will provide high security and safer area. Rapid Application Development (RAD) Methodology, a merger of various structured techniques, especially data-driven Information Engineering, with prototyping techniques to accelerate software systems development, was used in the development of the system, it includes Analysis phase, Requirement Analysis phase, Design phase, Coding phase and Testing and Turnover phase. The following were used in the development of the software: PHP and Visual Basic 6.0 as the scripting language, and MySQL and Access as the database for storage. The software evaluation was conducted at Ju Young Electronics and Cavite State University main campus with the participation of 60 intended users. | |
