The study assessed the relationship between perceived parenting style, perception of penalties and offensive tendencies of the first year students. Specifically, this study sought to determine the following: (l) to determine the perceived parenting style of the students in terms of: (a) Authoritarian: (b) Authoritative: (c) Permissive and (d) Uninvolved. (2) to determine the level of perception of penalties of the students; (3) to determine the level of offensive tendencies of the students; (4) to determine if there is a significant relationship among perceived parenting style and perception of penalties (5) to determine if there is a significant relationship among parenting style and offensive tendencies; (6) to determine if there is significant relationship among perception of penalties and offensive tendencies. All the data were analyzed using the mean and standard deviation formula and Chi-Square formula. A total of 350 first year students of College of Arts and Sciences in Cavite State University, Indang Cavite were chosen as participants. A valid and reliable survey questionnaire was used as research instrument. The "Perceived Parenting Style Scale", the "Awareness and Compliance towards the Rules and Regulations Scale" and lastly, the "Offensive Tendencies Scale". The study results that the authoritative is the most perceived parenting style. It shows that the students have a high level of perception of penalty and low level of offensive tendencies. There were positive direction and weak relationship among authoritative, authoritarian and permissive perceived parenting style and perception of penalties while negative direction and weak relationship between uninvolved parenting style and perception of penalties. There were positive direction and weak relationship between authoritarian and uninvolved parenting style and offensive tendencies while negative direction and weak relationship among authoritative and permissive perceived parenting style and offensive tendencies. Lastly, the perceptions of penalties of the students were found out that it has a negative direction with a weak relationship towards offensive tendencies. Throughout the study, it shown that parenting style is not the only factor of misbehaving of the students but also the peers and social conformity.
