520 3 _aOLEA, REGINE MARIE T., PAL, CATHERINE P. AND TORRECAMPO, MARJULYN V. Self Presentation, Self Esteem, and Sense of Belongingness of Selected Youth for Christ Members in Indang, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. 2019. Mrs. Imelda R. Filart. The study aimed to discuss the relationship between self-presentation, self-steem, and sense of belongingness of the participants. Furthermore, it aimed to determine the following: 1. self-presentation of the participants when joining a youth organization; 2. level of self-esteem of the participants when joining a youth organization; 3. level of sense of belongingness of the participants when joining a youth organization; 4. if self-presentation is significantly related to self-esteem of the participants; 5. if self-presentation is significantly related to the sense of belongingness; and 6. if self-steem is significantly related to the sense of belongingness. The participants of the study were selected 123 Youth for Christ members in Indang, Cavite. The researchers used the descriptive correlational design. Results revealed that self-presentation and self-esteem had a significant relationship. Self-esteem and sense of belongingness also had significant relationship and self-presentation and sense of belongingness were all significantly related but has a weak positive correlation. Having a low self-presentation means their goal was to create an image consistent in a way they value themselves. They were just being true with what they are and tend to make an impression which was already existing within them. Having low self-esteem can affect almost every aspect of people's lives from how individuals way of thinking or reacted to life situations. If they have low self-esteem or confidence they may hide themselves away from social situations, stop trying new things, and avoid things they found challenging. Having a low sense of belongingness, participants tended to feel that they do not belong to the organization; that are not accepted by their co-members. They felt that their co-members might judge them. Due to external factors such as less meeting, less activities, and lack of interpersonal communication with their co-members and chapter head, the results had a weak positive correlation.
