| 520 | 3 | _aThis Farm Practice was conducted at the poultry project of Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite from November 1, 1982 to December 23, 1982 to acquire the manipulative and managerial skills in rearing broilers and to determine the cost of producing a kilogram liveweight of broiler. A total of 200 day old commercial Pilch chicks were used in this project. The birds fed with commercially prepared feeds with broiler starter mash and corn grit, fresh chopped roughages as feed substitute and vitamin preparation as well, were able to convert an average of 3.57 kilograms of feed consumed to an average body weight of 1.4 kilograms in seven weeks feeding period. This per-formance in terms of feed conversion gave an efficiency rate of 2.6 kilograms. Gross sales was P3,244.90 while the expenses amounted to P2,714.90 giving a net return of P530.00 for the whole period of production. Broiler performance under DSAC condition is good enough especially if efficient management is being employed. | |
