Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. January 2019. Adviser: Robert M. Nova. The study was conducted from August 2019 to November 2019 to know the carnapping crimes and its inferences to other crimes as responded by selected local government units in Cavite. Specifically, it aimed to accomplish the following objectives: (1) determine the extent of carnapping incidents in selected Local Government Units in Cavite (2) identify inferences of crimes related to carnapping incidents (3) determine precautionary measures adopted by selected Local Government Units in Cavite. The researcher used Descriptive-Exploratory Design. Descriptive- Exploratory research is to determine the extent of carnapping incidents in selected Local Government Units in Cavite, identify the inferences of crimes related to carnapping incidents in selected Local Government Units in Cavite and determine precautionary measures adopted by selected Local Government Units in Cavite. The participants of this study were (3) Chief Police Investigators, (3) Police Officers and (2) Highway Patrol Group officers. The participants were chosen based on their roles and specialization in accordance to this study. There are still many problems regarding carnapping cases in the Dasmariñas City, Imus City and Bacoor City, Cavite because of its severity and its inferences to other crimes, but this can be eliminated through its solutions such as manpower to cities, patrolling officers, budget for gasoline for patrol cars and provide streetlights in dark places for every street in each city to increase visibility to prevent carnapping cases. Carnapping incidents and its inference to other crime is considered a serious case because of its extent to other serious cases which now becomes a common case in the towns of Cavite. The government authorities are alarmed about the issue and reinforced precautionary measures that extends onto vehicle owners’ responsibilities. It is still not enough to eradicate the crime of carnapping especially when the citizens are uncooperative and unmindful of this case also the deficit in budget and manpower was also the reason why LGU's cannot secure the towns and operate efficiently. The carnapping cases will pervade not only the province of Cavite but the crime will circulate with more dangerous effects of violence towards other communities. | |
