520 3 _a CORNELIO MELCHOR D. GATMAITAN & LOUIEGEE G. APOLONA. Assessing the Effective Natural Calamity Response Strategies of the Municipality of Tanza, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis Submitted to the Faculty of College of Arts and Science Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. People, communities, societies, and systems may become more resilient to many hazards by learning to resist, absorb, accommodate, recover from, and improve their well- being through DRRM activities. Risk-reduction and risk-management activities can thus be used to increase resilience to other hazards. In this study, the primary objectives are 1) to Identify the most effective Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Strategies used in times of calamity, 2) To obtain and assess the techniques used by the Municipality of Tanza in addressing the adverse aftereffects of calamities, 3) Understand the challenges encountered by the Municipality of Tanza while implementing these Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Strategies. The researchers focused on gathering significant data in the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Command Centre in Tanza, Cavite. The researchers used interview method and obtained the data from five administrative members of the MDRRMO command centre in Tanza. The researchers only used pure/basic Qualitative research design since no statistical data are needed to be gathered. Furthermore, the researchers only utilized asking open-ended questions that will be interpreted narratively to know the effective DRRM strategies in Tanza. Based on the data collected, the researchers asserted that the Municipality of Tanza prioritizes quality in doing quick response to disaster-stricken communities. The researchers also asserted that Tanza also specializes on doing DRRM related seminars and drills to better ready the community in times of disasters and to at least minimize disaster related casualties. The researchers highly recommend further study on the assessment of effectivity and quality of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Capability building seminars that shall help people in dealing with Disaster related Concerns.
