Bachelor of science in Psychology. Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Thesis Adviser: Mrs. Joy N. Babaan. This study was conducted to determine the relationship of the demographic characteristics, family structures and psychological well-being of single mothers at Indang Cavite. It specifically determined the (1) demographic characteristics of the single mothers (2) determine the family structure of the single mothers (3) the psychological well-being of the single mothers (4) and the significant relationship between the demographic characteristics and psychological well-being and family structure and psychological well-being. The study used the correlational research method which determines the relationship among two or more variables and explores their implications. The participants of the study were 89 single mothers of Indang, Cavite. The purposive sampling technique under Snow Ball category was used for sample selection of the study. The research instruments used in the study were Data Personal Sheet and Ryff Psychological Well-being Rated Scale, an 84 item questionnaire which measures the participants psychological well-being. The reliability of the questionnaire were determined by an expert statistician. The single mothers’ demographic characteristics showed that majority of the participants got pregnant at the age of twenty to twenty four. Many of the respondents attained high school and most of them were unemployed. As of their family income, it was found that majority of them belonged to low income family. The cause of being single mother showed that most of them were unmarried and widowed and majority had three numbers of children. It was also revealed that majority of the single mothers had a high level of psychological well-being in terms of autonomy, environmental mastery, personal growth, positive relation with others, purpose in life and self-acceptance. The result showed that educational attainment was significantly related to personal growth. However occupation and cause of being single mother were significantly related to personal growth and positive relation with others. Family income was significantly related to environmental mastery. It was also found that the number of years as a single mother was significantly related to purpose in life.
