January 2017. Adviser: Ms. Ezra Marie Ramos. The study was conducted from November 2015 to November 2017 at Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite to develop a mobile application of Guitar Chord Simulator using mobile device. Specifically, the study aimed to 1. design and develop a guitar chord simulator that can provide composing function which can use the presets of guitar chords and its elements for creating composition; 2. develop a composer feature that can save sessions for future re-edit and exporting functions that can be shared to other users; 3. provide a built-in browser with default guitar chord webpage for efficient searching of guitar chords within the application; and 4. develop a guitar tuning function that supports manual, auto mode and hands-free process on tuning the guitar using the mobile's microphone. Iterative Process Approach was used as a methodology in the development of the mobile application that includes Planning, Requirements, Analysis and Design, Implementation, Testing, Evaluation and Deployment. Software used in the study were the following: Windows 10 operating system with 8GB RAM, Android Studio with Gradle Build System, API 27, Java as a programming language. Adobe Photoshop for designing the icons, png image, backgrounds and buttons used in the mobile application. The software was developed with the following modules: chord simulator, composer, search and guitar tuner modules. The software was evaluated based on the given criteria: Functionality, Reliability, Usability, Efficiency and Portability. Evaluators were composed of DIT students, random individual, musicians and guitarists. The mobile application passed all the given criteria in the evaluation and met all the requirements of the software. | |
