520 3 _aANGCAO, JASMINE L. and CAISIP, RICA JOYCE C. Proposed Design and Analysis of Six-storey Reinforced Concrete College of Medicine Building in Cavite State University-Main Campus, Indang, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Major in Structural Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2023. Adviser: Engr. Larry E. Rocela College of Medicine is a tertiary educational institution that awards the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. The structure will cater to the medical school's educational, research, and other services. The proposed study addressed the need for the construction of a new building that will aid in the development of Cavite State University as a higher-quality learning institution. The study was conducted from September 2021 to January 2023. The study aimed to propose a structural design for the College of Medicine building using modal response spectrum analysis in STAAD Pro CONNECT Edition; to determine the behavior of structural members; to provide a full set of plans for the College of Medicine building, and to estimate the building's cost. The structure was designed in accordance with codes and specifications of the National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP 2015). Steel and concrete members were designed using Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) and Ultimate Stress Design (USD), respectively. The detailed cost estimation of the materials used in this study was based on the formulas, steps, and procedures in Max B. Fajardo Jr. I s Simplified Construction Estimate. The structure costs a total of PHP 98,001 ,966.55. The building's total floor area is 7151 rn 2 . The total project cost is PHP 13,704.65 per square meter. After the analysis and computations, the design was proven safe and economical.
