This study was conducted from June 2022 to February 2023 at the College of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (CSPEAR), Cavite State University to determine the challenges faced by physical education (PE) teachers in online class during COVID-19 pandemic in Cavite State University Main Campus for the academic year 2022-2023. Specifically, the study aimed to: determine the demographic characteristic of the participants in terms of age, sex, and specialization, (2) determine the challenges faced by PE teachers in online class; (3) determine the coping strategies PE teachers made in online class; (4) determine the preparation they made before the online class started. The participants were 15 PE teachers from CSPEAR. They were selected through the use of judgment sampling also called purposive sampling technique. The result showed that the demographic characteristic of the respondents in terms of age 40 percent were 20 to 30 years old, 25 percent were 31 to 40 years old, 51 to 60 years old also garnered 25 percent and the remaining 10 percent 41 to 50 years old. On the other hand, 80 percent of participants were male, and the remaining 20 percent were female. According to the specialization of participants, 70 percent were physical education majors, 20 percent were coaching majors, 5 percent were master’s in art education and the remaining 5 percent fall under cultural management. The challenges faced by PE teachers were difficulties in online platforms, low quality of learning and communication barrier (internet problems). The coping strategies made by PE teachers were by sending hand-outs and power-point and being more considerate to the students. Lastly, training, seminars and self-study were the main preparations made by PE teachers.
