The study "Growth and Yield Performance of Aerial Potato as Affected by Organic Fertilization Under Different CroppingSystems " was conducted at the eastern and southern part of the library of Don Severino Agricultural College from March 27 to December 3, 1993. The study aimed to compare the growth and yield performance of aerial potatoes that were fertilized with compost and chicken manure against the unfertilized aerial potatoes , and to compare its agronomic performancesunder monocropping and intercropping systems . There were two locations used in the study: the monocropped and the intercropped areas. Because of lack of Planting materials , a total of only 24 bulbs were divided an d planted for two locations used in the experiment and were arranged in an experimental lot using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four replications and three treatments The plants were treated with the following: Tl control T2 compost application T3- chicken manure application.The two locations or cropping systems were: L I—monocropping. L2—intercropping. Highly significant results were obtained on the effect of cropping system on the number of days to bulbi l format ion, number of days to flowering, length of vines at maturity, number of bulbils formed per plant ,total number of marketable and non—marketable bulbi is per plant , and on the total weight of marketable bulbi ls per plant .Significant result was obtained on the number of days to first harvest affected by cropping system. Highly significant result was obtained on the interact ion of cropping system and fertilizer affecting the total weight of non—marketable bulbi lis and significant result was obtained on the diameter of tubers per plant . However , no significant result was obtained on the average weight and diameter of marketable bulbi ls per plant average weight of non—marketable bulbi ls per plant and on the weight of tubers per plant . In general , plants in the monocropping system (open filed area) treated with chicken manure grows best and gave best yield as compared to those untreated and with compost fertilizer in the monocropping and in all treatments used in the intercropping system.
