520 | 3 | _aThe study “Response of Soybeans to Manures and Inorganic Fertilizer" was conducted in the experimental area of the Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite to determine the effect of manures and inorganic fertilizer on the growth and yield of soybeans. The land was laid out in a randomized complete block design with five replications and five treatments per replication before it was planted to soybeans. Soybean seeds were planted on December 11, 1979 and different treatments were made as Ty (applied with chicken manure), To (applied with horse manure), T3 (applied with cow manure), T,, (applied with complete fertilizer) and T, (control, no fertilizer applied what soever). Weeding and cultivation were done when necessary. Application of fertilizer was made at the rate of 300 kilograms per hectare. The data were gathered from ten representative samples from each treatment in all replications. | The results were highly significant in terms of the number of soybean pods per plant, number of branches per plant and weight of seeds. The study revealed that the application of complete fertilizer comparatively gave the highest yield of the lowest yield. The use of manures generally did not directly enhance the good yield of soybeans. However, the best manure tested applicable to soybean crop for more vigorous growth development was the chicken dungs. | |
