' Adviser: MRS. ELEANOR G. ERSANDO This study 'CORIANDER AS BIOLOGICAL CONTROL OF PECHAY MOSSAIC VIRUS VECTOR" was conducted to determine the effect of alternate planting of coriander and pechay for the control of pechay mosaic virus vector. Randomized Complete Block Design was used in this study. There were four treatments and replicated three times . The treatments were as follows : Treatment O (Control) , Treatment 1 (alternate horizontal planting of pechay and coriander) , Treatment 2 (alternate vertical planting of pechay and coriander) and Treatment 3 (alternate planting of pechay and coriander within a row). Results showed that Treatment 3 (alternate planting of pechay and coriander within a row) was the best treatment for pechay mosaic this can be attributed to coriander •s protective structures which enable it to be a disease—free and insect—free plant that make it an effective insect repel lant . It was followed by Treatment 1 (alternate horizontal planting of pechay and coriander), then Treatment 2 (alternate vertical planting of pechay and coriander). The least effective treatment was Treatment O (control) that produced larger number of diseased and affected plants.
