Ras Jr. The study is about Cost and Return Analysis of Vegetable Production in Imus, Cavite which aimed to present profile of vegetable growers; farming practices: distinguish problems encountered during production of vegetables; and identify the cost and return ratio or profitability of vegetable production. Secondary data were obtained from the Department of Agriculture thru Provincial and Municipal Agricultures Office, Libraries, and published and unpublished articles. Results of the study proved that average age of the growers is 48 years. Majority of the farmers are still capable of performing farming activities considering their age. Most of them are married (89%) and has an average household size of six dependents. Educational levels of the respondents are not high because majority of them attended only secondary level. Average years in farming is 29 years and considered farming as their major source of income. Ninety nine percent claimed that they did not own the farm land they cultivate and mainly depend on the irrigation facilities of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and under ground water pumps as their source of water. Farming practices require a lot of patience that is why majority of the farmers devoted their whole life in farming. They follow certain processes to ensure good and high quality vegetables. Primary problem they encountered throughout the production activities is high incidence of pests which according to them is unavoidable. They ensure that their vegetables are well taken care of with chemical inputs such as fertilizer, pesticide and herbicide. Cost and return analysis of the study showed that farming is profitable. The ratio of net income to total sales posted a .75% figure which means that for every P 1 sale, there is a 75 centavo return to total sales. While ratio to total cost is 123% it automatically means that for every P 100 spent in vegetable farming, there is a return of P 123.00.
