This Enterprise Development Project was conducted at B1k5 Lot21 St. Claire H-Dasmaritias, Cavite from December 09, 2009 to March 09, 2010. This project was conducted to enable the students to apply their knowledge and skills in business management to the actual business operation. Specifically, it aimed to describe the production and marketing activities of the meat processing business, determine the profitability of meat processing business and identify the problems encountered in handling processed food business and suggest solutions to problems. The project focused on the production and marketing of homemade tocino, meat balls, skinless longanisa, embutido and lumpiang shanghai. Through actual operation and observation, data, and other information pertaining to the project were gathered. The entrepreneurs used cost-based pricing and the prevailing market price in determining the prices of their products. The enterprise had an initial investment of PhP30, 000.00 which was used for the procurement of tools and materials and purchase of raw materials. The total sales during the operation was PhP108,730.00. With the total operating expenses of PhP2,244.00, the project realized a net profit of PhP32,416.54. The problems encountered by the enterprise were delayed payments of consumers who purchased their products on credit and increase in price of raw materials.
