A case study was conducted at Nupon Technology Philippines Corporation located at Filsyn Corporation Compound, Brgy. Don Jose, Sta. Rosa City, Laguna from July 11, 2013 to September 6, 2013. The study aimed to describe the organizational structure and management policies of the company, determine the product storage and distribution practices of the company, analyze the product storage and distribution practices using SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis, and identify the different problems encountered by the company in terms of product storage and distribution practices and recommend feasible solution. Data and information were gathered from the company profile and manual of operation, records, personal interviews, and direct observation. Descriptive method and SWOT were used for the analysis. Organizational structure and management policies of the company described is influencing the activities and actions that take place within the organization. The product storage and distribution practices of the company include material planning, stock allocation, recording in stock monitoring card, preparation of sales order document, preparation of items, quality assurance, warehouse encoding, warehouse dispatch and delivering of products. SWOT analysis of product storage and distribution practices shows the characteristics of practices as advantages and disadvantages for the operation of the firm. The major problems encountered by the company were the condition of the products while being stored in the warehouse where molds and dusts are present on the items, and poor and unventilated warehouse condition resulting to increases on the cost of rejected goods of the company. Another problems were wrong issuance of items and inaccurate count of stocks due to manual counting of items. | |
