This study was conducted to determine the relationship between awareness and compliance on Campus Journalism Act of 1991 of secondary schools in selected municipalities in District 7 of Cavite. Specifically, this study aimed to determine: 1. the level of awareness of both public and private secondary schools on Campus Journalism Act of 1991: 2. the level of compliance of public and private secondary schools on Campus Journalism Act of 1991 in terms of: a) implementation of Campus Journalism Act of 1991, b) rules and regulations in developing Campus Journalism Act of 1991, and c) publication and circulation of school paper: 3. the significant difference between the private and public secondary schools in the level of awareness on Campus Journalism Act of 1991: 4. the significant difference between the private and public secondary schools in the level of compliance on Campus Journalism Act of 1991: and 5. the significant relationship between the awareness and compliance on Campus Journalism Act of 1991 of secondary schools in selected municipalities in District 7 of Cavite. Data were gathered from the participants from all DepEd accredited secondary schools in selected municipalities in District 7 of Cavite, namely Alfonso, Indang, General Emilio Aguinaldo, and Mendez using a survey questionnaire. This study employed a descriptive method of research through convenience sampling, taking 31 secondary schools in both public and private in the selected four municipalities in District 7 of Cavite. These municipalities were selected due to its attainable proximity to satisfy and answer the objectives of the study. Mean, standard deviation, and correlation formula were used to statistically analyze the data gathered. Results of this study revealed that both public and private secondary schools were highly aware on the existence of Campus Journalism Act of 1991. Meanwhile, in terms of the level of compliance, the results revealed that private secondary schools were of moderate compliance while public secondary schools were of high compliance in conforming on Campus Journalism Act of 1991. In terms of the significant difference, the result of the study revealed that there is no significant difference on the level of awareness and that there is a significant difference in terms of the level of compliance of secondary schools in selected municipalities in District 7 of Cavite. Lastly, the result of the study revealed that there is no significant relationship in terms of the level of awareness and compliance of secondary schools in selected municipalities in District 7 of Cavite. It is highly recommended for the implementing agency of Campus Journalism Act of 1991, Department of Education, to conduct annual surveillance to ensure proper compliance for all educational institution and aside from the annual DepEd press conferences and training seminars, all educational institutions must at least annually conduct campus journalism seminar inviting other schools in order to encourage nearby educational institutions to engage in campus journalism. It is also further recommended that a similar study on campus journalism must be taken in order to deal with other topics not dealt with in the study.
