The researchers conducted a study entitled #Selfie: Level of satisfaction and self- esteem of selected high school students in Cavite.

The researchers used a mixed-method in conducting the study of #Selfie: Level of satisfaction and self-esteem of selected high school students in Cavite. In the quantitative part used a purposive random sampling technique while the qualitative part used an interpretative phenomenological analysis in conducting this study to get the data needed.

The researcher conducted the study to the constituents studying at Tanza National Trade School and Francisco Osorio National High School ages 14-16 conducted from December 2015-January 2016. Participants went pre-survey, among those participants, 50 went surveys and have their FB’s checked to be able to pick the 10 participants among them that had went the interview to be able to confirm their answers in the survey.

Results quantified that taking selfie and uploading it to social media specifically face book were within the normal range. While the frequency of taking selfie has a significance to satisfaction of the participants but has no significance to their self-esteem. Lastly, self-esteem and self-satisfaction does not have any significance with each other. The participants were satisfied on their selfies and even took a lot of selfies; they can still recognize their self and it does not affect their self-esteem though good comments and likes give the self-satisfaction.
