The study entitled Design of Gymnasium and Grandstand at General Trias Sports Park, General Trias, Cavite was conducted from June 2014 to March 2015 at the Department of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering and Information Technology, Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. The study served as a practical application of the author's knowledge and skills in designing structures which they gained during their stay at Cavite State University. The general objective of the study was to provide a design of gymnasium and grandstand as part of the development plan of the sports complex in the municipality of General Trias.
The study focused on producing the architectural and structural plans of the gymnasium and grandstand, structural analysis, design and cost estimate of the proposed projects. It also included the layout of the electrical and plumbing. Architectural plans were developed using Auto-CADD software and the structural system of the gymnasium and grandstand were analyzed through the help of Structural Aided Analysis and Design (STAAD) computer software.The design project included architectural plans, structural plan, detailed section, and civil work estimates. The total estimated cost of the project was Php. 47,024,531.63
