This project was conducted at Brgy. Gregorio, Trece Martires City from October 24, 2015 to February 27, 2016. The project aimed to develop skills in swine production in terms of actual operation and management of a swine production project and to determine the profitably of raising swine. The swine production project used nine piglets that were
purchased from a local swine farm raiser. The average weight of the piglets is 10 kg. The
feeds were bought from Trece Martires City public market. They are fed three times a
day and underwent restricted feeding so that there will be no wasted feeds.
For the first two months the pigs consumed four sacks of starter crumble which amounted to P5,796.00. They also consumed twenty one sacks of hog grower pellet
which amounted to P23,054.00 and nine sacks of wheat pollard with an amount of
P6,600.OO.
After 124 days the hogs weighed an average live weight of 68.5 kg, with an average daily gain of 534 grams per day. The hogs consumed an average of 173.33 kg of feeds per head, giving a feed conversion ratio of 2.53.
A total of P58,060 was used for buying of stocks, feeds, medicine, and other
inputs used in the operation. The business gave a net income which amounted to
PI 5,175.00 giving a return of investment (ROI) of 26%.
