This project was conducted at the Animal Production Project, Department of Animal Science, Cavite State University- Indang, Cavite from February 8, 2017, to April 30, 2017 to acquire additional knowledge and skills in hog fattening; acquire actual experience in hog fattening in preparation for future job; and gain profit that may serve as her basis in her future business.
The four fattening hogs were accorded with the proper care and management during the 85 — day rearing period.
At the end of the project, the hogs with an initial average weight of 21.00kg ended up weighing an average of 72.68kg with an average daily gain (ADG) of 0.64kg. The average feed consumption was 150.00kg and the computed feed conversion efficiency was 2.8.
A total of P32,075.00 was spent in the project operation. The net income computed was P6,025.00, giving a return of investment (ROI) of 18.78 percent.
