A study was conducted to determine the motivation of the member of CvSU-Cultural Dance Troupe in joining and performing, of cultural dance. Specifically, the study was conducted to 1) determine the demographic characteristics of the participants in terms of their age, sex, length of membership, and course and level; 2) identify the motivation of the dance members of CvSU-Cultural Dance Troupe (CCDT) in joining and performing cultural; and 3) determine the significant difference between the motivation of the member of CvSU-Cultural Dance Troupe group and the demographic characteristic. The study employed descriptive research design. A total sample of 25 members participating in CvSU-Cultural Dance Troupe in Cavite State University main campus, served as the participants of the study. Descriptive statistical toll such as frequency count, mean, range, percentage, standard deviations, frequency distribution in percentage were used to answer the objectives of the study. There were 1.1 members of CvSU-Cultural Dance Troupe with age ranging from 18-19 10 with age ranging from 20-21., and 2 with age ranging from 24-25 and I with age ranging from 26-27. There were 13 male dancers and 12 female dancers. Most of them with 9 members were in 4 year college level and the rest were in 2 year, 3' year„ and 1' year level_ According to the length of membership of CvSU-Cultural Dance Troupe 10 dancers last 4 years or 37-48 months followed by 9 dancers who last for 1-12 months or approximately 1 veal-, however, there were 4 dancers who last for 13-24 and 2 who last for 25-36 months of membership. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the motivation of the member of CvSU -Cultural Dance Troupe in joining and performing cultural dance according to the demographic characteristic. This interpretation indicated that demographic characteristics of the -member of the dance troupe had no effect to the level of motivation in joining and performing cultural dance.
