The entrepreneurial development project was conducted at Brgy. Banaba Lejos, Indang, Cavite from January 2018 to October 2018. It aimed to: (1) enhance the entrepreneurial skills and gain more knowledge in tomato production enterprise; (2) determine the profitability of tomato (Diamante Max) production; and (3) distinguish the problems that will be encountered in tomato production enterprise. The project involved growing of tomato using trellis made of bamboo and plastic twine. This kind of project was a sole proprietorship type of business with 400 m2 of land area and tomato population of 330 plants.
The production activities started from purchasing of tomato seeds and other tools needed. Sowing of seeds, watering, hardening, transplanting, and trellising (Fermented Fruit juice, Fermented plant Juice and Oriental Herbal Nutrient) were also part of the production activities. Tomatoes were harvested when they already reached their full size. The deformed and damaged tomatoes were carefully separated from the marketable. The tomatoes were marketed in Ternate Public Market, Cavite State University - Main Campus, and Indang Public Market. The gross income amounted to P 7,095. The net income was computed with a value of P 5,408.23. The return on investment (ROI) was 43.25 percent.
