This field study was conducted at Bangko Mabuhay (Rural Bank of Tanza , Cavite Inc.) at Indang, Cavite Branch from December 1, 1997, to February 27, 1998. This primarily aimed to gain knowledge and skills in the field of business management especially in the aspect of economics.
field study student was exposed to the different activities involved in the bank operations which include deposit / withdrawal transactions, lending operations, encoding and balancing debit-credits, among others.
Bangko Mabuhay offers different services which include savings and current accounts, time deposit, premium savings deposit, commercial loans, and other types of loans.
Bangko Mabuhay, as an organization is headed by a branch manager and seeks the
services of an accountant, tellers, and bank liason. Their duties and responsibilities are well-defined in such a way that overlapping, and duplication of works and frictions are
avoided.
The bank normally experienced different problems and undertakings. Among these are overdue payment of loans, bouncing checks, reconciling of data and inflow of fake bills. These problems, however, were quite manageable and solutions can be provided immediately.
