A farm practice training was conducted at Lumipa, General Emilio Aguinaldo, Cavite from September 1983 to February 1984 to manage and onerate a coffee plantation
with emphasis on fertilization and other cultural practices to maximize production.

This was done to enable the student to develop his capability to manage a small-scale income generating project through proper transfer of technology in fertilizing coffee; to demonstrate to farmers the right amount and proper application of fertilizer; to convince the farmers that application of modern technology on coffee will help increase their income.

A four thousand two hundred fifty (4,250) square meter land with coffee plants was weeded and cultivated in preparation for fertilization. The first application of fertilizer was done at the beginning of the growing season. The second application was made immediately after the flowering period. The last application was made when the plants were in the rapid development and during the late vegetative stage. Harvesting was done on December up to February. Marketing, followed right after the harvested perras were dried.

Cost and return analysis showed that out of the capital investment of ~ 1,124.75 the farmer realized a net profit of 2 1,235.25.
