The project, "Cultural Management of Mongo" was conducted at Barangay Ionnipa, General Emilio Aguinaldo Cavite from September to November 1986.. It was conducted to determine the cultural management of mongo in relation
to the growth and yield as an income generating project of the student outreach agents and the farmer-cooperator. The primary objective of the project was to encourage people to plant mongo for it is a good source of income in the country. One hectare was used in the study. Six gantas of mongo seeds were uniformly broadcasted in the prepared field. Split application of complete fertilizer and urea was uniformly broadcasted in the prepared field at the rate of 100 kgs. per hectare prior to planting and the other half 50 kgs. was supplied during the vegeta-tive growth of the plants 15 days after plating. Harvest. ing was done 110 days after planting.. Harvested pods were dried, threshed and cleaned prior to marketing. Dried mongo seeds were marketed at the nearest public market at P45.00 per kilo.
