The farm practice project, "Production of Vegeta-ble Through Organic Gardening", was conducted at the Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite from November 1986 to March 1987. The project aimed to pro-duce different kinds of vegetables and to determine the feasibility and profitability of vegetable production through organic gardening. An area of 2,000 square meter land was thoroughly plowed twice with alternate harrowing, followed by trans-planting of pechay and tomato seedlings. One week after planting, fertilization was done at the rate of 450 kilo-grams per hectare. The plants were watered in the morning and in the late afternoon. Cultivation of the area was done to control the weeds. Control of pests and diseases was also done by spraying the plants with Malathion and Dithane. Tomato fruits were harvested by hand pulling. Two months after planting, pechay was harvested. Tomatoes on the other hand, were harvested when they were green ripe. Right after harvesting, they were marketed and the student earned an income of 0 740.00.
