The author underwent farm practice in Bancod, a pilot barrio of DSAC-AEOP in Indang, Cavite from August, 1981 to February 21, 1982. This was undertaken to implement the different agricultural skills and abilities acquired from school to be able to transfer the same to the farmers. It was also done to get acquainted with the farmers' cultu-ral practices and to see where student outreach agents like could come in. A courtesy call to the barrio captain and a short meeting with the barrio people were made. This is to inform them of the objectives of the farm practice and to plan out with the farmer-cooperator as to what possible projects could be put up in their respective farms. Mr. Vicente Panganiban, my farmer-cooperator, agreed to put up a papaya plantation in his half-hectare piece of land. A visit was made to the farm being operated by my farmer-cooperator. A little nursery was constructed to have a good site for rearing of seedlings. The clearing of the field was done on September 5 to 20, 1981. On October 24 and 25, 1981, the seedlings were transplanted to the field. The first weeding was done on November 7 to 10, 1981 and the other one was done on the third and last week of January. Cultivation was made on November 14 to 29, 1981 to suppress the growth of cogon.
The soil was fertilized before transplanting° Then on the second week of January, fertilizer was again applied.
Harvesting was not included since the project terminates even before fruiting.
