A Farm Practice was conducted at the Piggery Project of the Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite from September 1982 to January 1983. This project was supported by DSAC-AEOP (Agricultural Education Outreach Project) by providing a loan of P1 4,000.00 for a period of five months. The stock used was a crossbred of landrace and large white was secured from DSAC Piggery Project. The management practices employed by the Students Outreach Agents (SOA) and supervised farming program were housing, feeding, disease prevention and control, marketing and record keeping. The stocks were fed twice a day with commercial feeds during the entire period of the study. Feed additives like napier grass, ipil-ipil leaves and pigromix to minimize the cost of expenses were also supplemented. Records of the project were analyzed and interpreted in order to know the cost and return of producing four fattening hogs. The four fattening hogs with an average body weight of 89 kilograms gave a monetary return of P448.40 marketed live weight at a current price of P12.20 per kilogram. The presence of many middlemen who manipulated the price of hogs and lack of coordination among members were the common problems encountered by the Students Outreach Agents
